What’s in a Name ?
Yes, there is “something” in a name. If not, why would Bombay be changed to Mumbai ? why would Bangalore be changed to Bengaluru , or Calcutta to Kolkata? Over a cup of tea break in a conference recently , after the usual introductions and the .. “hi”..”hello” a lady asked my name and what is the meaning, if any . Uh ! Umm , I could not explain the direct meaning and why I was named so. It makes her all the more interested. Besides the ice breaking, often I had encountered odd moments where I cannot explain 'in short' related to my name, naming and its meaning, as many would often asked casually.
