Consciously Unconscious

North East Indians are a conscious lot. They ( that includes me) know the latest in-thing in fashion , music or even news. Besides “national and international happenings” those of whom are away from their homeland(s) are in constant touch with their home ground, are aware and have knowledge of happenings back home.

In the cities they socialized and are always connected either through social networks or gatherings ( such as activities and fellowships). Everyone in one way or the other are in-touch with their own community. Of late with the growing “consciousness” of being attack by locals rather commonly called mainlanders they would pull together their whole lot and resources and make all the right (counter) political noises ( loosely accusing  "Indians” , unconsciously unaware that when they say  "Indians" that includes them !!)  

In fact, North East Indians are politically conscious lots. But in their attempt to voice out loud were unconsciously making all the politically incorrect remarks and statements. Many of the social networking sites are flooded with “remarks and statements “ such as “ these Indians, these bastards, these ***" The remarks also includes  “these black people, negros, and what nots””!! Aren't the North Esaterners an Indian too ? Don’t they shout their lungs out saying “ I am an Indian” ??? Aren't these remarks racist too ???)

And we also see many NE personalities in the cities,most importantly , who are supposedly “leaders” and playing active role in “leadership” themselves were repeatedly making such “unconscious” and insensitive comments , remarks and statements. In putting out their voices and thoughts this presents their attitude and their  very hollow understanding of “political correctness” . No doubt they attempt to generate awareness or sensitization, but all these “consciousness” so called "sensitization" and well intended 'information' dissemination and information disseminated  were actually giving out a different message . This were aimed at accusing / attacking the “other” ( read - all the non – NE are bad !!). While accusing and pointing fingers at the “other” in the very act they themselves exposed their own prejudices towards the “other”.

The gender aspect and perceptions  is even more “hollow”   Some would say, the actions, comments are “ for the good of the NE women and girls ". To correct the wrongs of the NE gals etc !. This very act too further asserts their own “patriarchy and patriarch-ism” .  North East girls/women would be accused and abused ( left and right ) as being foolish , naive, even “sex starved” lust for money etc.  The rationales apart, this are some very basic expose’ of the very mindsets of the North East People themselves.

The consciousness, sensitivity, awareness , political correctness  of the North –East Indians are  quite dangerous; it is indicative of their narrow perceptions, prejudices, and limited "intelligence" . Their consciousness is unwittingly and unconsciously exposing their very own hollow understanding of themselves and the world around them.
